YNAP’s off-price Yoox brand continues to boost its new-season offer with the retailer having partnered with Stella Jean for a see now, buy now offer that was part of the designer’s recent runway show.
But it’s more than just a designer collab and has a key ethical angle as well. The collection has now been launched on Yooxygen, Yoox’s socially and environmentally responsible destination and is the key collaboration as that platform celebrates its 10th anniversary.
The Stella Jean x Yoox capsule features the work of artisans from the Chitral and Kerighar project in Pakistan with their distinctive embroideries being used on the pieces that were mainly made in Italy.
The capsule consists of a selection of T-shirts, a dress, a skirt and a pair of shorts and features “the unique aesthetic of the communities of Kalash, Hunza, Gilgit."
Yoox said that it’s using its Yooxygen platform to present the work and traditions of the remote region to an international audience for the first time. It added that the launch is “a call to action to increase the awareness and empower these communities, which will lead to the creation of employment and self-sustenance for local artisans.”
