What do supermodel Yasmin Wijnaldum and the world’s most advanced humanoid robot have in common? They both have walked in Giuseppe di Morabito’s debut Fall/Winter 2025 show, reports Hypebeast.
It’s not often that a supermodel has to compete with otherworldly creatures, but the humanoid Ameka certainly felt like one. Designed to highlight the tension between fashion and our technologically dystopian future, di Morabito’s show was an eerie representation of what’s to come.

The show opened with a recording of designer di Morabito encouraging Ameka to “wake up.” As the humanoid took center stage, Ameka began reading from Thomas Carlyle’s 1834 Sartor Resartus (The Tailored Retailored), a philosophical treatise on clothing and the human condition.
When Amelia Gray took to the runway, the organic portion of the show had already begun.

Similar juxtapositions occurred throughout the collection. The show’s theme, ALONE WITH THE STARS, the darkness of the duality of antiquity and modernity was central to achieving this effect.
Floral corsets were immortalized in cast metal, complementing the armor layered over their male counterparts’ suits. Crinolines were modernized as outerwear, sculpting blazers and minidresses in an earthy color palette.
Yasmin Wijnaldum closed with a sculptural, bejeweled corset, reminiscent of Grecian stature crystallized in time. The model interacted timidly with Ameka, who in turn imitated Wijnaldum's movements as a final interactive gesture between past, present, and future.
