Dutch sports retailers Perry Sport and Aktiesport, part of Sports Unlimited Retail, the Dutch branch of JD Sports plc, will be opening new stores in the Netherlands. According to the group, both chains have shown positive results in 2025.

Dutch newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad reported a turnover of 150 million euros, an 8 percent increase according to the newspaper. According to JD Sports, the increased profit can be attributed to the acquisitions as well as the popularity of a healthy lifestyle, which includes exercise.
As a result, Sports Unlimited Retail has now announced a further expansion in the Netherlands. Perry Sport will open its third flagship store in Rotterdam in May, while Aktiesport will land in Amstelveen in late February and in Utrecht later this year.
Existing stores such as the Perry Sport branches in Nijmegen and Amstelveen will re-open after a renovation. All stores will be designed according to Perry’s new store concept, first introduced in December 2025 at the relaunch of Perry Sport in Amsterdam. Aktiesport introduced a new store concept in October 2025. The concept will be extended to all 61 shops and plans to be completed within two years.
In March 2025, then owner Unlimited Sports Group filed for bankruptcy. A month later the retailer was taken over by the British JD Sports Group. The latter announced in 2025 that it reduced the number of Perry Sport and Aktiesport stores in the Netherlands. The retailer went from 70 outlets to 39 points of sale, while Aktiesport remained 61 of its 180 outlets.
