World No. 6 Daniil Medvedev failed to reach the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

In the quarterfinals, the Russian tennis star lost in three sets—6:2, 6:7 (7:9), 5:7—to world No. 47 Tallon Griekspoor (Netherlands). The match lasted 2 hours and 37 minutes.

For a place in the final, Griekspoor will face world No. 11 Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece), who defeated world No. 30 Matteo Berrettini (Italy) in their quarterfinal clash.

The prize fund of the Dubai Tennis Championships is $3.2 million.
