The 13 selected designers are current students and graduates of the Art Institute schools in New York City, Philadelphia, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Phoenix, Houston, Portland and Vancouver. The global collection of designers hail from a number of different countries like Iran, Haiti and Vietnam.

The Art Institute partnered with NYFW to provide a career-launching platform for its budding designers. A few designers participating in the fashion show include Zenia De Sousa, Sebastian Cubides, Stephanie Castanon, Nhi Nguyen, Bahareh Memarian and Alejandra Isunsa.

“We are excited to once again showcase our students’ and graduates’ work at New York Fashion Week. This is a true career building experience for them, in which their passion, skills, and creativity can shine through in front of an international audience,” said Tim Moscato, Chief Operating Officer, The Art Institutes.

The school system last year showcased the SS16 collections of 12 students and graduates including Kiki Terrels, Rujing Liu, Nathaly Meristil, Matheus Rangel, Monica Suemitsu, Ebony Taylor, Nataliya Matkivska, Yurie Lim, Melissa D. Gonzalez, Eric Jernigan, Deron Shields and Lavan Chxiedze.

The fashion show will be held at The Arc, Skylight at Moynihan Station on Tuesday, February 16 at 8:30pm. A live stream of the show will be available for online viewers around the world.
