Nobody’s Child has unveiled an “integrated rental service” with Zoa through nobodyschild.com that has launched in time for the party season.

The “pop-up partnership” will allow customers to hire from a curated 19-piece edit including satin occasionwear and wedding dresses for both brides and bridesmaids. There’s also a selection of casual styles from the Happy Place by Fearne Cotton collaboration, “where highly sought-after designs have a history of selling out quickly”.

It’s understandable that it has launched as party season gets under way because party dressing is a key category for the wider rental sector. And while bridal is also a major focus for rental, it’s interesting that it has chosen to include the category at a point in the year not known for its big weddings business.

The company said its latest move is directly linked to its “mission to make responsible fashion accessible to every woman everywhere. Not only does rental support a more circular future by keeping products in rotation for longer, it allows customers to enjoy responsibly made fashion for less”. With that in mind, rental prices start at just £15.

As mentioned, it’s a pop-up, so “for an initial limited time only”, customers can hire through a dedicated rental area on the webstore. Each rentable style will also have a ‘rent’ button on the product page located directly below the ‘add to bag’ button — “further bridging the gap between the rental and retail experience”.

Nobody’s Child said that it’s “one of the first fashion brands to allow customers to hire directly from its own product pages instead of through a partner platform. The integration of a ‘rent’ button on the selling pages significantly elevates the user experience by offering a straightforward option alongside purchasing, showcasing Nobody’s Child’s commitment to catering to the evolving preferences of modern consumers and the use of responsible fashion rental”.

Products can be hired for a minimum of five days with all items professionally dry cleaned and coming with accidental damage cover.

CEO Jody Plows said the addition of rental to the firm’s own website follows “the success of Nobody’s Child on Hirestreet, we’re delighted to integrate Zoa into our own platform to provide a seamless experience for our consumers. Having the option to rent direct from nobodyschild.com is an exciting innovation, and another step in providing women across the UK with responsible and affordable fashion”.
