TK Maxx’s ambitious London expansion plans have seen the fashion and homewares retailer striking a key flagship store deal. It will open in Westfield London this autumn, taking major space in the former Debenhams store at the White City mall.

A spokesman for the brand’s parent, TJX Europe, told The London Evening Standard: “Plans for this exciting 30,000 sq ft space are well under way and we’ll be working round the clock to bring West London customers our unique mix of incredible products at amazing prices.”

It also confirmed the Westfield flagship would be one of four units set to launch in the UK this year. However, an earlier report this month by the newspaper suggested TK Maxx, which currently has 58 stores in the capital, was also looking at around 28 possible sites in London locations such as Notting Hill, Holborn and Elephant & Castle.

Kate Orwin, leasing director UK at Westfield’s owner, added this latest letting is “hot on the heels of a string of global retailers taking new or larger spaces” at the centre. Recent signings include beauty giants Sephora and Space NK.

Orwin added: “More exciting signings will soon be unveiled for this part of the centre as we continue to transform our spaces and bring customers the best retail, dining and leisure mix.”
