The Alchemist Atelier has opened its first, 100 m2 bespoke-fragrance perfumery in Paris. The store is centrally located at 36 rue Etienne-Marcel, and the concept stems from a partnership deal signed in 2025 by home electrical appliances group Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH) and Spanish perfumery and luxury group Puig. The new store gives its customers the opportunity of developing their very own perfumes through a bespoke fragrance-creation service.

To concoct their own personalised scents, customers use Scent Creator, a connected device developed by BSH. They can choose between 16 bases and 18 fragrance blends that they can combine and dose at will thanks to a dedicated app.

To make the process more entertaining and didactic, The Alchemist Atelier also generates visual representations of the fragrances created, enabling customers to visualise immediately in which proportions they are using the ingredients, and adjust the blend according to their wishes. The perfume is then produced by the Scent Creator device, its composition is digitally stored and the happy fragrance creators can share their scents via the app. The bespoke service is available from €59.

For the time being, the Scent Creator technology is being tested exclusively at The Alchemist Atelier, though partnerships with other perfumery brands are on the cards, such as L’Artisan Parfumeur. The brand, owned by Puig, is thinking about offering this kind of bespoke service at its stores in the future.
