Luxe retailer Hervia relaunches after funding boostBy

Manchester luxury fashion retailer Hervia has reopened. It has seen major investment since it was bought by Parabellum Investments — the private equity operation controlled by Rami Cassis — for an undisclosed sum last spring.

The retailer — which has a reputation for uncovering new talent and was the first store to stock Alexander McQueen — has relaunched its flagship store, which originally opened 30 years ago.

Known for carrying labels such as Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Y-3, Maison Margiela, DSM, and Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, it closed post-acquisition for work to bring its HQ, e-commerce operations, and stock holdings into one space alongside its retail store.

At the time of the acquisition, the new owner said he wanted to build the business into a “supergroup” and the works have clearly been designed to support that ambition.

Founder Oscar Pinto-Hervia is still at the helm as CEO (and retains a stake in the business). He said the reopening is “momentous for Hervia. This is the first phase in a plan to build the brand into something truly incredible. It is particularly exciting to be holding this reopening in our 30th year of business”.

The store is in a Grade 2 listed building and the revamp works have retained its distinctive features such as the unmissable giant bronze doorway and full-height windows.
