Celebrity stylists are guaranteed crowd pullers when it comes to launching or endorsing fashion ranges so it should be good news for supermarket line George at Asda that it has signed up Tan France for a series of exclusive edits.

The retailer launched the first one this week with the Emmy-award winning stylist who’s known for his appearances on Queer Eyeand for hosting Netflix’s Next in Fashion(originally with Alexa Chung and with his season two co-host to be Gigi Hadid).

Ahead of season two, the Doncaster-born star is staying busy and has selected a 37-piece George edit that we’re told is “a lesson in wearable wardrobe solutions”.

That’s a message likely to resonate at present as consumers seek maximum value out of their clothing purchases and also turn to cheaper labels — such as supermarket brands — in the face of the cost-of-living crisis.

“I’m a real advocate for accessible fashion, it simply doesn’t need to cost the earth to look good,” he said. “I’ve never been one to spend a fortune on my wardrobe — you really can’t buy style — it’s about how you wear it and more than anything that’s what I want my edit for George at Asda to show; a bit of confidence goes a long way.”

The selection is available in-store now and is priced from only £7. There are co-ords, dresses, knits, tracksuits, casualwear and more.

Asda has been forging closer links with Netflix this year, selling branded merchandise linked to hit shows including Squid Game, Stranger Things, Emily in Paris andFriends.
