LVMH’s beauty chain Sephora is clearly happy with how its return to the UK market has gone so far. After opening its first store in Britain earlier this year, it’s now planning a second location that will open its doors in November.
It’s also undeniably happy with Westfield specifically as a suitable location for its premium and luxury selection because after opening at the giant Westfield London mall in White City, store number two will be at the Westfield Stratford City centre across town.
Sephora, which had originally entered and then exited the UK earlier this century, began a full-scale assault on the market last year.
It had bought Feelunique, the British beauty e-tailer in autumn 2025 and relaunched it a year later as a rebranded dedicated UK Sephora webstore.
That was followed by the first Westfield opening this spring. And following that, LVMH Selective Retailing divisional boss Christopher de Lapuente told an audience at the World Retail Congress that the London store was performing “300% better than we expected within the first eight weeks”.
Beauty is a thriving category in the UK and many big names have been expanding their premium offer, including Harrods’ H Beauty chain, Space NK and Next.
