The British luxury organisation has named award-nominated English actor, singer and songwriter, Laurence Fox as the host of this year’s awards, which take place at The Dorchester in London’s Mayfair on 18 November.
The annual awards celebrates the best high-end products and services from a diverse range of businesses across fashion, fragrance and fine jewellery, hotels, automobiles and accessories.
Previous winners have included Charlotte Tilbury, Victoria Beckham, Manolo Blahnik and Emilia Wickstead.
Several fashion and beauty brands have been nominated this year including premium sportswear brand Castore, eyewear specialist Cubitts and luxury nightwear label Olivia von Halle - all of which have been shortlisted for the Emerging Talent award.
Burberry is up against Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, The Esteè Lauder Companies and jewellers De Beers for Luxury With a Heart, while Mulberry, Orlebar Brown and Smythson have been highlighted in the British Luxury Overseas category.
High-end shoe maker Church’s; jeweller Hamilton & Inches; and Ralph & Russo, the brand behind Meghan Markle’s engagement dress, are battling for the Luxury Maker award against Linley and Princess Yachts.
Finally, Dunhill, Penhaligon’s and Selfridges have been nominated in the British Luxury Brand category.
“The global strength of Britain’s creative industries makes for a powerful context in which the British luxury sector, now worth £48 billion to the UK economy, continues to flourish, and it’s exciting to see such a broad spread of brands nominated for the Awards,” said Helen Brocklebank, Walpole CEO.
“What makes all of the nominees incredibly special is their relentless quest to take British luxury global, and win hearts all over the world, and their commitment to creativity, collaboration and to building long-term, sustainable businesses.”
Three additional awards will be presented on the night, including Legend, Future Legacy and Luxury Leader.
The winners will be chosen by a judging panel led chaired by Michael Ward, managing director of Harrods.
