Uncaught fish of happy Levon Malkhasyan20:31,飞机盗号软件VIP破解技术 December 18

An evening in one of the most famous jazz clubs in Yerevan. The atmosphere is light, but at the same time filled with excitement. Guests fill the hall, take their seats at the tables, and conversations intertwine with the music, creating a feeling of coziness and freedom. The musicians are already on stage, the double bass is playing, a few chords on the piano, and a cheerful and warm atmosphere is created as if you have returned home. Lively communication, laughter, and encouragement arise between the musicians and the audience. All this fills the space with anticipation because everyone knows that something special is about to happen.

And then he appears ... a legendary man ... the one for whom everyone really came here: maestro Levon Malkhasyan. From his gestures, looks, and mood it becomes clear that the evening will be special. Malkhas, as he is called by the Yerevan residents—and not only, sits down at the piano. The first chords of his playing—deep, rich, soaked with emotions—immediately absorb the hall. The air is filled with magic, and the music begins to sound in a new way, changing the atmosphere and giving it a completely different depth. With each sound, it seems that the music goes beyond the instrument and connects with the spirit of the space itself. His fingers glide over the keys with such ease as if the piano and he are one. With each chord, the atmosphere in the club becomes more and more intense, and everyone around is immersed in the magic that his music creates. This is jazz that is not just performed, but lived.

Levon Malkhasyan is the embodiment of the idea of "eternal youth" in music. Like his works, he continues to develop while remaining true to his principles. His life and work are an inspiration for everyone who believes in the power of art and its ability to overcome time and space.

On the eve of his 80th birthday, the maestro agreed to talk to us about his work and the path he has traveled.

Jazz as a part of life

If jazz could speak, it would say, “Stay as sincere and kind to me as I have been sincere and kind to you.” For me, jazz is not just art, it is a part of life. It penetrates deeply into the soul and becomes a part of the person himself. This music reflects not only the technique of performance, but also what you experience, what you live. It is important that this sincerity is preserved in every note.

Music as a language

Music is already words. Everything that I want to convey, I convey through my music. A musician does not try to convey something in words, this is not his task. If he is a real musician, he is able to convey feelings, thoughts, and emotions through sound. Words may be limited, but music has no such boundaries. It is through music that I can talk about what worries me, what I experience. It is a universal language that does not need translation.

Trace in music and culture

As for the trace in music and culture, I think it is not me who should decide, but the listener. My trace is what remains in people's hearts, what they take with them after the concert. The main thing is how my music influences people. They determine what I left in culture and music.

Dreams that came true, and one uncaught fish

I consider myself a happy person because I had three big dreams, and they all came true. One of them was related to a trip to the US, the birthplace of jazz. I wanted to know whether I was moving in the right direction, visit American jazz clubs, play with local musicians, and establish important contacts. I managed to do it. I spent time in clubs, talked to jazzmen, played with them, and this experience helped me look at many things from a different perspective. This was my first dream—and it came true.

The second dream was to organize an international jazz festival in my hometown Yerevan. I dreamed that the stars of world jazz would gather in my city, and that young people would be able to hear these musicians. I invited the most famous jazz masters, giants from America, and have held this festival dozens of times. This has also become a reality.

My third dream was to create a jazz club where young musicians could show their talent, learn, and develop. This club has existed for over 20 years, and during this time about a thousand jazz bands have visited it. Here, young musicians gain experience, and many of them now perform all over the world—in Russia, the UAE, Germany, America, Lebanon. This also came true, and I am proud that this club has become a starting point for many talented performers.

But, of course, I have a fourth dream. However, I will not tell you about it yet. As the Armenian proverb says, "There is no bargaining while the fish is in the water." When I catch this “fish,” then I will share.

Honesty in creativity is the basis of success

Honesty in creativity is, first of all, a fanatical love for your work. You need to sincerely love the genre you have chosen—be it classical, folk music, or jazz. I am sure that today's youth in jazz are very talented and sincere in their choice. In this sense, I have no doubt that they have this honesty and devotion to the chosen path.

My world is jazz

As for other musical genres, then, frankly speaking, except for jazz, I do not do anything seriously. For 60 years I have been devoting myself exclusively to jazz. This is my life. But, of course, if I meet super-talented representatives of other genres, I cannot just pass by, But such genres as rock, rap, pop, and so on interest me little. They do not excite me.

Artificial intelligence in music is not a threat to creativity

When it comes to artificial intelligence in music, my answer will be short: a definite NO. Music is more than just algorithms and technology. It is the soul, emotions, and human experience which no artificial intelligence can replace.

Each person is given their own path, and it is important not to stray from it

I believe that sociopolitical and cultural life should be clearly separated. But many artists are still engaged in political activities. It is difficult for me to answer unequivocally whether this is right or not. But I believe that God gives a person one path, and he should not stray from this path. But this is my opinion, it may be wrong.
