After taking its cruise collection to Marrakech, Athens and Seville, Christian Dior is heading to India. On March 30, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri will show her pre-collection of women's ready-to-wear for Autumn 2025 at the Gateway of India monument, a historic archway on the waterfront of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), in the west of the country.

The idea, as in previous cruise shows, is to highlight local know-how and collaborations with local artisans. For the luxury label, it will also be an opportunity to strengthen its ties with the country's wealthy clientele.
The collection, which was presented in Paris last December, is inspired by traditional Indian craftsmanship and textiles with strong colours, numerous prints and, of course, embroidery. The collection will arrive in shops towards the end of April.
For years, the LVMH star house has had the embroidery for its collections as well as the decor for some of its couture shows made at the Chanakya workshop and school in Mumbai, founded and directed by Karishma Swali.
