German sportswear maker Adidas said on Wednesday it plans to hire more than 2,800 new employees in 2025, across 307 of its sites in 47 countries globally.

More than 900 of the new employees will recruited for Adidas stores, while more than 500 will be in digital, IT and data analytics. Adidas said it is also continuing to hire in the area of sustainability, having already doubled the number of jobs in this area last year. About 50 interns or working students will also have the opportunity to be hired.
Of the new positions, 800 will be in Germany. The positions will be posted and recruited for throughout the year, and will involve backfilling vacancies and also building up jobs, Adidas said.
"We want to set standards as an employer. Adidas is an employer like no other, and we go above and beyond every day to create an attractive working environment for our employees. Adidas is fantastic, and I can only encourage those interested to apply," said Amanda Rajkumar, Adidas executive board member, responsible for human resources, people and Culture.
The global sportswear giant currently employs in total around 62,000 people, of which around 7,700 are in Germany. Some 5,300 employees work at the company headquarters in Herzogenaurach.
Looking ahead, Adidas said it plans have women in leadership positions at the company exceed 40% by 2025. By the end of 2025, the company was already at 35 percent, it said.
