At an event held at The Royal Academy, the organisation announced that Ahluwalia Studio, Art School, Asai, Bethany Williams, Bianca Saunders, Paria /Farzaneh, Roker and Stefan Cooke have been chosen to join the 2025/20 edition of the programme for the first time.

Meanwhile, A-cold-wall, Alighieri, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, Halpern, Isosceles Lingerie, Matty Bovan, Nicholas Daley, Per Götesson, Richard Malone, Richard Quinn and Supriya Lele will continue to receive support for one more season.

The NewGen One to Watch award has been given to Eftychia, who will receive exhibition space in the Designer Showrooms during London Fashion Week this September.

The prestigious initiative offers participating designers the opportunity to host a show or presentation at either LFW or LFWM plus a dedicated pop-up showroom space where they can meet press and buyers.

Some of the UK’s top designers, including Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Christopher Raeburn and Jonathan Anderson, have received NewGen support since its introduction in 1993.

BFC/GQ DESIGNER MENSWEAR FUND SHORTLIST

On Tuesday, the British Fashion Council also announced the list of designers who have been shortlisted for the 2025 BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund, supported by JD.com.

A-cold-wall, Cottweiler, Daniel W. Fletcher, Edward Crutchley, Liam Hodges and Wales Bonner will receive mentoring sessions from the judging committee ahead of a final presentation.

The winner will be announced at the end of London Fashion Week Men’s in June and receive a £150,000 cash prize and a 12-month period mentoring programme.

Dylan Jones, BFC menswear chair and editor of British GQ commented: “The fund is vital to supporting creative and design talent from across the UK; and this year is more important than ever. Our 2025 shortlist represents the most innovative designers who are ready to expand their business globally, showcasing what the UK has to offer.”
