Dutch sneaker label Filling Pieces has launched its first ready-to-wear collection. The collection is in collaboration with New York-based department store chain, Barneys. With the collaboration, the Amsterdam-based label aims to expand the footwear brand into a global multidisciplinary brand.

The debut unisex collection, launched for the spring/summer season, consists of track pants, trousers and jackets blending luxury materials with technical fabrics, which should mirror the brand's footwear background. In addition, the twelve-piece collection also includes sweaters, hoodies and tees.
Filling Pieces founder and creative director Guillaume Philibert said: “My first encounter with Barneys was at the age of 16. It was my first time in New York. Due to my interest in architecture, which I later ended up studying, I had to visit The Guggenheim museum. Afterwards, overwhelmed by the building, the space and the feeling it gave me, I walked all the way down Madison Avenue to Barneys.
That crossover from being in Guggenheim, and then Barneys, has always stuck with me, forming the creative tissue that makes up the theme of this collection. A homage to that personal moment and vision, the collection is based on the architectural ideology that 'form follows function’. I'm very grateful to launch our first ready-to-wear collection with Barneys.”
The Filling Pieces ready-to-wear collection is now available in-store at Barneys New York City and Los Angeles as well as the Barneys web shop and the Filling Pieces online store.
Filling Pieces launched in 2009 by Guillaume Philibert and is manufactured in Portugal. In addition to its own web store, the label is available via retailers around the globe, including Aspact, Neiman Marcus, 10 Corso Como, Kith, Solebox, Matchesfashion and Mr. Porter.
