The Armenian wine market is growing and evolving. However, there are places where this movement is not just recorded, but shaped. One such place is Yerevan’s VINO&VINO tasting room, where on Monday a meeting with the Italian winery Fantini was held—an event carried out in the best traditions of a refined professional presentation.

The arrival of Alessia Paola Sciotti, a representative of the family and brand ambassador of the winery, confirmed that for Fantini, Armenia is not just an export point. It is also a partnership built on trust, respect for the market, and understanding of cultural codes. For VINO&VINO, it was an opportunity to once again demonstrate how carefully and precisely they approach the selection of their winemaking alliances.

Alessia is not only a charismatic figure, but also a strategic one. In her life story, there is a thirty-year history of a family that, in 1994, went against the conservative logic of winemaking in Southern Italy. Instead of buying land, the three founders decided to preserve the authenticity of the terroirs through collaboration with generations of grape growers. This approach is a rare example of a restrained revolution in the modern model of winemaking.

Today, Fantini consists of estates in seven Italian regions, a project in Spain, its own research center, and a team of around twenty enologists. But the scale here is not an end in itself. Every wine carries the same signature: the purity of the grape varieties, appropriateness of style, and attention to detail.

And for this producer, the concept of “bottled passion” is not a marketing trick, but a working tool. The tasting at VINO&VINO confirmed this. The lineup of wines was presented with an emphasis on the diversity of styles, terroirs, and grape varieties.

The white Edizione, a blend of Pecorino, Fiano, and Grillo, was restrained, full-bodied, with a mineral profile and good gastronomic pairing potential. Calalenta Rosé and White showcased technological sophistication: night harvesting, precise cooling, aromatic purity, and lightness on the palate—wines built on refinement.

Naturally, special attention was drawn to Edizione Cinque Autoctoni, the brand’s flagship wine, recognizable, multi-layered, with deep Southern tones, a soft texture, and impeccable balance. A wine that needs no explanation—just one sip is enough.

Meanwhile, El Maso, Fantini’s Spanish venture, was a revelation: rich, structured, with a long finish, it found its place in the tasting not simply as an “interesting project,” but as a statement of a new chapter.

It is worth noting how delicately the evening was structured. Everything unfolded without pressure, respecting the pace and mood of the guests. There were no pompous gestures, no rush, and just the calm flow of events where each wine found its place and time. The atmosphere resembled a private conversation more than a typical presentation: as if long-time friends simply decided to try something interesting—and share it with each other.

Such evenings prove that the wine culture in Armenia has not only found its voice, but also a confident tone. And VINO&VINO remains the very place where global winemaking meanings acquire local depth and style.
