Cotton On Group has set up a new headquarters in California, as the Australian clothing and accessories group looks to punctuate its presence in the US.
Located in Glendale, the 1670 square-metre-space is close to Glendale Galleria mall, where two of its stores -- Cotton On and Cotton On Kids -- are set up.
With the absence of cubicles and closed-off spaces, the headquarters mimics the group's Geelong office in Victoria, Australia with an open concept design created to encourage communication and productivity, especially seen with a staff kitchen named 'The Common'.
The new offices boast a panoramic view of LA across an entire floor on Brand Boulevard with a 20-seat boardroom and USA-themed meeting rooms.
“We took great consideration in designing each space throughout the new office," Cotton On US country manager Mark Pan told local media.
"We wanted the space to reflect the values and culture of the group and create a productive, collaborative environment which inspires our team.”
The new US office was conceptualised by Australian design team PITD and is the latest addition to Cotton On's 'regional hub' program, which the firm started rolling out across the globe five years ago. The other hubs are located in Johannesburg in South Africa, Singapore in Asia, Auckland in New Zealand and Sao Paulo in Brazil.
“We’re building that local knowledge with the model being that we protect the brand,” said Cotton On CEO Peter Johnson, back in April, to media. “To some degree, we’ve localised while remaining a global model, taking the insight from the local team to apply to our overall terrain.”
Cotton On Group currently operates eight retail stores in the US, including Cotton On, Cotton On Kids and Typo, the firm's stationery and lifestyle brand. It also owns Cotton On Body.
