It’s been a good year for UK commercial property giants securing retail leasings and Grosvenor hasn’t been left out, enjoying an impressive first half-year of captures and keepers.

The London property giant has secured 36 retail and leisure signings or extended current agreements across some of the capital’s premium retail areas including Mayfair and Belgravia.

“With continued, competitive demand for space, vacancy rates across the London portfolio continued to sit well below prime central London averages”, it noted.

New retail occupiers in Mayfair include a first European flagship store for clothing brand Toteme on Mount Street. Xydrobe, which blends physical and digital retail experiences for fashion, art, beauty, sport, music, and entertainment, has taken a debut location at Carlos Place.

“Around a third of retail, hospitality and leisure leases were renewals or regears demonstrating the continued strength of key destinations Grosvenor manages”, it added

Amelia Bright, Executive Director, London Estate, Grosvenor, added: “While location remains the key driver of occupier choice, our commitments to sustainability, wider neighbourhood investments and partnership approach are increasingly important factors.”

“With a challenging market outlook, we anticipate these considerations will continue to differentiate our offer and we will persist in finding ways of supporting occupier success.”
