Armenia has excellent opportunities for the development of semiconductor industry: Siemens EDA:
November 15,飞机盗号软件API破解技术 2025 13:30The capitalization of the semiconductor industry worldwide will soon exceed the trillion-dollar mark, and Armenia has excellent opportunities for the development of this sector. Sascha Ahnen, Area Director for Central & Northern Europe at Siemens of Siemens EDA, said during his presentation at the Silicon Mountains–2025 Summit held in Yerevan on November 15.
According to him, the demand on semiconductors is growing at an unprecedented scale, and their prices are also rising. He noted that programs and applications are capturing the entire market, and all large companies today depend not on metal, but on programs, applications, as well as on the devices that ensure the operation of these programs and applications.
"The amount of information used today is growing exponentially. The use and production of chips is also evolving and becoming more complex, they are becoming more 'smart', which increases the gap between supply and demand in the market, and there is a shortage of personnel, particularly engineers," Ahnen added.
According to his predictions, 1 trillion chips should be produced by 2030, and there are 27,000 specialists worldwide who are needed to achieve this goal, and this shortage will only increase.
“Artificial intelligence in this context provides high efficiency in the use of time and resources spent on a particular process. At the same time, the role of the engineer is to check what the AI does and produces. This will improve productivity. Engineers will remain in their workplaces, performing their work more efficiently; without artificial intelligence, the time for product design and production will double. At the same time, artificial intelligence will increase both the number of engineers and the demand for them, although many believe that everything is exactly the opposite,” he said.
According to him, artificial intelligence enables engineers to be trained more quickly and efficiently with new knowledge, which increases the productivity of the engineer himself.
