Like last year, Vegan Fashion Week took place at the California Market Center in Downtown LA, celebrating the 5th anniversary of the event founded by Emmanuelle Rienda. A show increasingly followed by the press and celebrities such as Jay Shetty, an award-winner podcaster; actresses Tara Reid and Maggie Baird, and rising Hollywood star Caylee Cowan.

Named 'The Golden Hour Fashion Show', the event started with a political and emotional speech by actress from Netflix's Never Have I Ever Richa Moorjani, who is deeply involved in ethical and vegan fashion. Then, the show kicked off with a first runway by Dutch designer Suzanne Harper, founder of vegan and sustainable footwear brand A Perfect Jane. The show featured a collection of elegant western boots made from apple fiber, matched to silhouettes styled by Emmanuelle Rienda and featuring vintage and upcycled pieces.
Next up was French designer Guillaume Larquemain, whose eponymous brand is sold at Printemps Haussmann Paris and Printemps Lille, as well as in Stockholm. The designer unveiled a collection of apple canvas bags and his first ready-to-wear vegan collection, inviting his first model onto the runway with a bag featuring integrated speakers.

"My brand was launched three years ago in France around apple canvas with the desire to bring a more luxurious and exclusive look to vegan fashion and accessories," said Larquemain. "Everything was made in Normandy, the region I come from, and tuned to a genderfluid, seasonless wardrobe, with minimalist, elegant and human design proposed from apple fiber but also bamboo and linen."
The latest participant in Vegan Fashion Week, Los Angeles-based Nikki Green, once again emphasized the luxury evolution of vegan fashion. Founded by Dominique Side and her long-time stylist Christian Allen, the brand showcased sharp-shouldered suit silhouettes, tops, blouses and evening dresses perfect for the red carpet, and sexy nylon and polyester ensembles.

The fifth edition of fashion week ended with the Emmy-nominated Mychal-Bella Bowman's spoken words, summing up perfectly the message of the event.
“Vegan Fashion Week goes beyond just a trend," said Bowman. "It's a beacon of transformation, guiding us towards a fashion future where humanity and animals coexist in compassion and harmony. It's an exciting and meaningful journey, reflecting the emphasis we put on our choices and their impact. Representing my generation, I see the power and necessity of this movement. After all, our future is crafted from our actions today. Our choices, the designs we wear, the fashion culture we cultivate, all resonate loudly about the world we desire.”
"This new edition of Vegan Fashion Week, was intended to be more intimate, with a more political message too," said Rienda. "By presenting these three designers, from the Netherlands, France and Los Angeles, we also wanted to show that the movement is now global. And the presence of many celebrities confirms this". Vegan Fashion Week remains an independent event, and still look forward to the support of sponsors and philanthropists.
