As one of the UK’s key womenswear retailers, New Look is well placed to see what people are looking for or buying each season and two sets of data it has just released show that denim dresses and non-wired bras are trending.

The company said that it has seen a huge spike in searches for denim dresses during November with a 215% leap.

And with denim skirts up as much as 104%, the material is clearly moving beyond jeans and jackets to embrace a wider range of daywear items.

But it’s not just about daywear and the retailer said it’s expecting the denim trend to stick around for party season as a more dressed down after-dark option, as well as being big for spring 2025.

Meanwhile, when it comes to underwear, the retailer has seen non-wired bras staying securely at the top of consumer wishlists for much of this year. They’ve seen over 8,000 monthly searches, making them the top trend.

Behind them in second place come balconette bras, with monthly search volume of 5,400. And regardless of the style, consumers have been searching for pink underwear as the key trending colour with 4,000 monthly searches.

Next is sheer fabric on 3,600 and black lace bra on 2,900. In fact, the most popular specified underwear fabric overall (rather than specially for bras) is lace with almost 3,000 average monthly searches in 2025 across the UK.
