The collaboration between Philosophy and Natalie Ratabesi is coming to an end. To everyone's surprise, the Italian fashion company announced that the designer had left her post as creative director of Alberta Ferretti’s second line.

"The decision was a mutual agreement between the designer and the heads of Aeffe. They have now given the creative direction of the brand to the internal in-house design team," said the company in a brief statement.

The group also announced that the fashion brand would present its upcoming spring/summer 2025 collection in September during Milan’s fashion week. Philosophy, a womenswear line created in 1984, has shown in New York since 2006.

The company, which besides the ready-to-wear clothing brand for women Alberta Ferretti holds the brands Moschino and Pollini as well as licenses for Emanuel Ungaro and Cédric Charlier, entrusted the young line for the first time to an external designer in 2025.

The goal for Alberta Ferretti was "to give Philosophy independence and an autonomous vision", allowing the founding designer of the brand to concentrate fully on Alberta Feretti collections and "projects related to the line." But, obviously, the collaboration has not yielded the expected results.

Natalie Ratabesi, who is Anglo-Italian, studied in London at the Central Saint Martins. Previously, she worked for Polo Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Gucci.
