Sustainability-inspired demi-fine jewellery brand Monica Vinader is about to opened of its first Scottish flagship store in the heart of Edinburgh.

Located on George Street, it welcomes its first customers on 9 November to a new store concept with a focus on “conscious design and raw materials”.

Taking inspiration from “earthy textures and organic forms”, its elevated design is “an ode to the natural world and the brand’s heritage of craftsmanship” while providing “a unique and immersive experience through art and craft”.

Apart from its boutique jewellery, the store will also offer piercings, weldings and complimentary engraving and monogramming, allowing customers to personalise their pieces.

As with the wider fashion sector and reflecting its sustainability commitments, customers can also recycle their gold and silver jewellery in exchange for a gift voucher towards their next purchase. As part of the jeweller’s five-year warranty and lifetime repair guarantee, customers are also eligible for repairs and exchanges at the new location.

In August, the brand also announced it aims to set a new standard for gemstone traceability with the launch of its first fully traceable aquamarine collection, Odyssey.

It’s in partnership with Zimbaqua, Africa’s first gemstone mine managed by a women-only team, located in Karoi, Zimbabwe.

Until earlier this year, Monica Vinader’s traceability has been limited to metals such as gold, silver and lab-grown diamonds. The new partnership with Zimbaqua “marks the next step in the brand’s ambitious journey towards total supply chain traceability and transparency”.
