The high-end luggage sector has seen plenty of development most-pandemic as travel has been back on consumers’ radars and now a new brand, Timothy London, has launched its “innovation-rich premium collection” and a new Jermyn Street flagship store in London.

The store opened this week and will be the label’s European flagship. It covers 2,267sqft space to “showcase the brand’s growing product offering in an environment that mirrors its creative direction”.

The flagship interior features muted panelled walls, oak parquet flooring and bespoke fixtures handmade in the UK, “reflecting Timothy London’s fusion of classic British design and modernity”.

Dark forest green – a shade mirrored through its branding – is incorporated into a handmade slat-panelled focal installation behind the sales counter, along with custom furnishings and clean-lined display podiums intended to “lend the store a gallery feel”. A bespoke central island shaped with the brand’s distinctive ‘O’ taken from its logo “will allow the unique craftsmanship and features of each product to be demonstrated to customers”.

The brand said it’s set to open a network of international stores with launches in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore scheduled for later in the year.

As for the products, the company said that “game-changing travel innovation and expert craftsmanship” define the new British label that has ambitions to establish itself as “one of the world’s leading luggage manufacturers, delivering the perfect travelling companion for all of life’s adventures”.

Its suitcases come with design features such a “patented industry-first silent wheels with silicone dampers [to] reduce friction and noise while eliminating surface vibration”.

There’s also an “ergonomic, multi-position, telescopic handle which sits outside the case [and] ensures the handle can be adjusted every 10mm”.

And “for ease of access, all Timothy London check-in styles feature a side-hinged, front-opening bonnet. While for cabin cases, an ingenious front opening bonnet, allows speedy hassle-free access to the main storage compartment of the case. Each case also features industry-leading double-coil YKK zips and TSA-approved key-combination locks for added security”.

They’ve been designed “with the frequent premium traveller in mind” with the Burlington and Cavendish check-in and cabin suitcases being made from “ultra-tough, durable polycarbonate which, with its sleek lines and directional looks, combine modernist design with timeless elegance”.

Both those models also come in a “robust carbon fibre option”.
