Charity Super.Mkt is continuing its drive to “reinvent charity shopping” with apparent success. The temporary charity fashion retailer is now extending its run at Hammerson-operated Cabot Circus mall in Bristol by a month.

This follows a “hugely successful” launch. It also has attracted five new charities as part of its line-up for August/September.

It’s a further sign both of the thrift focus among UK consumers and the increasing appeal of the secondhand market for sustainability reasons.

So, due to high demand, shoppers will now be able to buy secondhand items until 24 September. The pop-up, which opened on 20 July, has already sold over 5,000 items of clothing, accessories and footwear with almost 500 items sold on opening night.

As part of a commitment to providing more fundraising opportunities for local and national charities, Charity Super.Mkt has also introduced Shelter, Bath Cats & Dogs, GWAA, Weston Hospicecare and Havens Hospices to its roster.

Dubbed the ‘department store for secondhand style’ it’s now on course to raise over £1 million for charities, having already reached £627,000 at Hammerson’s retail and leisure destinations, Brent Cross (London) and The Oracle (Reading).

Sarah Tinsley, Director of Marketing & Placemaking at Hammerson, said: “The success is testament to how we are being fearless with our approach to incubating new brands and introducing market firsts to enhance the experience for our customers and occupiers. This is an exciting new concept for Cabot Circus which underpins Hammerson’s ESG commitments to make a positive impact on the environment via our assets and brand partners.”
