Vite London has launched at https://www.vitelondon.com/ as a “sustainably-focused B2B2C on-demand clothing delivery and rental platform, connecting time-scarce consumers with inventory local to them”.

The company said it “not only solves the problem of convenience but also aims to substitute long-haul delivery routes, with shorter, more sustainable ones”.

It’s all about allowing a variety of “local inventory to be discovered" via an app (on both the App Store and Google Play). Those time-scarce consumers can then make “last-minute purchases thoughtful by buying items they love and will re-wear, or renting for the occasion, from local supply”.

The company said it saw “a gap connecting busy consumers with clothing choices on short notice, leaving people with limited options and the world with more waste from throwaway purchases”. The aim is to fill that gap in a more sustainable, accessible and transparent way.

There’s clearly a market out there for its offer given that the company said 75% of people in London say over half of the clothing purchases they make are online and a sizeable minority (8%) never go into physical clothing shops any more.

Vite said its tech means “stores can easily sync their real time inventory and track their revenue and order development through our easy-to-use merchant portal”.

It has been onboarding brands that “align with our values on sustainability, supporting local enterprises and community”. These include Rove London, Frekkle, Talita London and Après Midi, among others.

It’s aiming to share the stories of its brand partners in the coming weeks with its Founder Series being released.

Meanwhile the shopper gets the benefit of browsing the platform, placing an order and carrying on with their day while it’s picked up by a courier and “delivered straight to their door within hours”.

The business was founded by CEO Jamilah Jaffer. She previously worked at in financial markets at BNP Paribas for four years and  “decided to combine her experience in complex problem solving and delivering for clients, with her passion for enterprise and fashion”.

She’d also previously founded Concrete Catwalk, a street style venture that “grew into a team of 40 people and was passed on to a new management team before leaving university”.
