Fashion designer Virgil Abloh is launching an eponymous jewelry line.
The US creative, who currently heads his own Off-White label as well as acting as the artistic director of the menswear fashion division at Louis Vuitton, is planning to unveil the collection on January 17 as part of an Off-White pop-up store at Hôtel Costes in Paris, WWD reports.
Photos posted to Abloh's Instagram account show a box of paperclips with the words "Virgil Abloh Recycled Jumbo Paperclips" stamped on the side and Abloh wearing a paperclip necklace alongside the caption ‘Jacob'.
"It's a necklace, there's earrings, there's an accessory," the designer told WWD. "The idea is like high jewelry for all. It's a crash -- it's a paper clip, but it's also pavé diamonds made in a very specific way."
The move is the latest career swerve from the multitalented Abloh, who can also count DJ and architect as his professional skills. Back in December, it was reported that he had been snapped up by the mineral water brand Evian as its "creative advisor" for sustainable innovation design, while in May it was revealed that he was collaborating with the Swedish furniture giant Ikea.
