The pulling power of the Charity Super.Mkt retail format continues to attract attention from major retail landlords.

Charity Super.Mkt

The latest is property giant Peel who has given space to the multi-charity ‘supermarket’ for a pop-up at its premier southwest urban outlet Gloucester Quays.

The 4,000 sq ft store will launch on 14 March, introducing its popular concept to a key entrance off High Orchard Street.

Charity Super.Mkt will bring together a curated collection of pre-loved fashion and accessories, including vintage denim, sports- and streetwear. Working closely with some of the UK’s key charities and several local operations, it will introduce a rolling rotation of organisations throughout the duration of the pop-up, in order to cater to the high demand for space at the store. Charities will include Havens Hospices, Longfield Hospice, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, National Star, Traid and Acorn.

Following its first bricks-and-mortar format at the old Topshop in Brent Cross shopping centre in early 2025, this will be the 16th pop-up in a series that has included space within the former Fenwick flagship store on Bond Street, Salford’s Quayside MediaCity, London’s Westfield centre in west London, and Bristol’s Cabot Circus.

Paul Carter, Asset Director at Peel L&P, said: “Charity Super.Mkt will be a fantastic addition to Gloucester Quays. Their huge success and growth in the past year or so mirrors our own, both down to a real understanding of consumer shopping motivations. Pre-loved fashion is a sector that is expanding quickly, and it sits naturally within an outlet environment, which is why we were so keen to introduce Charity Super.Mkt into our tenant mix. They’ll slot right in and will absolutely appeal to our dedicated customer base.”

Maria Chenoweth and Wayne Hemingway, co-founders of Charity Super.Mkt, added: “[We have] proved in its first year that second-hand charity fashion can sit comfortably with high street and designer brands. From some of the UK’s busiest shopping centres shopping centres to world-renowned streets such as London’s Bond Street, Charity Super.Mkt has matched the turnover, brought in new customers and increased footfall.”
