Circular fashion marketplace The Nold is launching in Britain this month as it also continues to build out its offer from its early Phase One test stage, moving from a model where it showcases a limited number of brand sample sites to one where users can list their own items for sale.

It said its primary objective is to “redirect the retail industry from overproduction by maximising the use of existing inventory, creating a mutually beneficial environment for brands, users, and the planet”.
The tech-driven fashion platform is “dedicated to transforming brand samples and facilitating peer-to-peer transactions for pre-loved fashion” with the support of 11 venture capital firms and a line-up of 85 strategic high-end brand partners. Initially, it will be exclusively available to users within the UK.
So far, hubs for By far and Pangaia have launched and two more are set to launch mid-month.
As for the peer-to-peer element, the company said its listing experience will be the “fastest and most efficient process globally. Users can seamlessly list items by selecting from The Nold’s extensive product database, with the platform automatically pre-filling essential details like original photos, price, title, description, composition, and attributes. All is needed from them is to upload photos of the current condition and set the resale price. Even for brands not yet in the database, AI steps in to provide a smooth and intuitive listing experience.”
It also said it “sets itself apart with the variety of upper-end and entry-luxury selection of brands”.
Its brand partners include By Far and Piferi. And its advisory board features Maÿlis Buonomo, who’d previously been Head of Social Impact & Sustainability Communication at Chloé; Alexis Cepeda Maule, MD UK & Europe at Reformation; Léon Evers, Director Brand Office Operations at Tommy Hilfiger; and Dax Lovegrove, Head of Sustainability at Salterbaxter, who was previously with Jimmy Choo, Versace and Swarovski.
It also said that its centralised systems simplify the user experience “with a unified profile for all interactions, featuring a centralised wallet for easy tracking of payouts and store credits. [It] offers the unique advantage of seamless shopping across diverse brands on a single platform. This approach eliminates the need for navigating various brand websites and managing multiple profiles. Users can enjoy the simplicity of a single profile spanning the entire Nold ecosystem”.
