Venerable British luggage brand Antler has been steadily reinventing itself in the past few years and now another step in its evolution has been announced as it expands its offer to move further beyond just luggage.




The 110-year-old travel-focused brand is evolving its travel lifestyle offering with an expanded range of travel bags, “designed to work in harmony with its premium luggage range”. And by ‘travel’ the company means anyone moving about and needing a practical bag. That could mean a commuter cycling to hopping on a train to get into work as much as the firm’s core leisure or business travel customer.

Antler wants to be more than just a premium luggage provider. Instead it’s positioning itself as “a comprehensive travel brand" with a major expansion of its bag and accessories collection. 

That’s in response to the “growing demand for elevated everyday essentials” and sees it panning to triple its travel bag portfolio with a 117% increase in SKUs by the end of 2025.

The first phase of this expansion introduces Urban Core, its inaugural commuter-focused collection, as well as an extension of the best-selling Discovery range and Icon Stripe collections, with more collections launching later this year. 

“Designed with everyday journeys of all sizes in mind, the expanded range blends modern functionality with sleek design, offering versatile styles ideal for commuting, weekend getaways, or city exploration,” we’re told.

So, what do we get with its new additions? Urban Core bags are made from durable, 100% recycled Cordura fabric and “engineered to endure the rigours of city life. From bustling commutes to impromptu detours, these bags offer streamlined utility and modern style”.

Aimed to be versatile, the Tote Bag and Zip Top Backpack are intended to be “the perfect ‘city stack’ – built to sit effortlessly atop your suitcase, making your travels even easier. With reinforced structure and ample space for tech and essentials, Urban Core keeps you organised, ready for whatever the day holds. Your commute, upgraded”.

The launch come after the brand last month introduced its first-ever clothing collection with the Essentials collection that includes travel-worthy clothing and accessories that are “lightweight, adaptable” and “always ready”. 

And the month before that it had reported a strong festive season with a 9% sales increase in November and December and UK online sales up 12% over the same period.

Last year, the label had launched a major rebrand and unveiled its Icon Stripe collection, as well as opening an experiential New York pop-up.
