Heritage footwear brand Sebago has become the official supplier for UK-based The Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
While the four-year partnership sees Sebago, known for its boat shoe styles, become the body’s Onshore Lifestyle Footwear Supplier, it will also support the RYA’s work to ensure boaters “have access to clean and safe waters and provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to get on the water”.
Daniel Richmond, Head of Marketing – Fashion Footwear, GLD Group, which handles Sebago in Britain, said: “Our shared aim of providing well-made, long-lasting nautical footwear and RYA’s commitment of getting more people to experience the benefits of being on the water, enhances our promise to provide functional footwear for all that is stylish and with you every step of the way.”
Sara Sutcliffe, RYA CEO, highlighted its goal of “getting more people to experience the benefits of being afloat” and said that Sebago’s “marine heritage, makes them a natural fit”.
It’s not Sebago’s first tie up this year. Earlier in the spring it teamed up with Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini on a capsule collaboration. It featured two new versions of Sebago's well-known penny loafer, “combining the American brand’s timeless classic style with Philosophy's glam-rock spirit”.
