The future of Groupe Rocher's perfume production site in Ploërmel (Morbihan) is taking shape. The Breton cosmetics group that owns the Yves Rocher brand, which last September indicated that it wanted to sell the site, which employs 89 people, has announced that it is in exclusive negotiations with Arcade Beauty, an American group specialising in the manufacture of product sampling and packaging solutions for the perfume and cosmetics industries, for its takeover.

"The negotiations are based around a five-year exclusive production agreement for the group's existing volumes, thus ensuring the stability and continuity of the business at Ploërmel. This is proof of the Rocher group's investment in the site and an important step towards securing and perpetuating jobs and local industrial know-how. The buyer is also committed to developing the site by bringing in additional volumes through commercial partnerships", said the Rocher group in a press release.
The Rocher Group, which has sales of €2.2 billion, announced in January 2025 that it was to cut 300 jobs over three years, mainly in Brittany, to counter the decline in sales of its flagship brand, Yves Rocher. The brand has also physically withdrawn from certain markets, such as Switzerland.
New York-based Arcade Beauty develops and manufactures products for more than 400 cosmetics and fragrance brands, and has eleven production sites around the world. The proposed takeover of Ploërmel could be finalised this autumn.
