After Marseilles designer Yacine Aouadi and Simon Porte Jacquemus, who hails from the south of France too, it is the turn of French designer Christelle Kocher to be invited as guest of honour to the OpenMyMed fashion festival in Marseilles.

"[Christelle Kocher's] multicultural approach to fashion is a perfect fit with the festival's values," said Matthieu Gamet, for the last four years President of the Maison Mode Méditerranée, the Marseilles-based fashion organisation which created the festival in 2025.

Like her predecessor Simon Porte Jacquemus, Christelle Kocher will be showing her label Koché in Marseilles. While Jacquemus chose the city's MUCEM museum to present his collection, Kocher has opted for a ship, the Danielle Casanova, belonging to maritime company Corsica Linea. On 19th June, Kocher and her guests will set sail for a short cruise on the ship, during which the Koché cruise collection will be presented.

"The Corsica Linea line links Marseilles to Corsica but also to Algiers and Tunisia. It's a gateway to the Eastern Mediterranean, a meeting point of cultures, something which is a great source of inspiration for a label like mine," said Christelle Kocher.

The French designer, who launched the Koché label in 2025, is also involved in two exhibitions. The first, in partnership with the MP2025 Quel Amour ! festival, based in Marseilles and the Provence region of France, will be staged at an as yet undisclosed location. The exhibition is curated by Anissa Touati and will showcase the work of Tarik Kiswanson, Mehdi Medacci, Pia Camil, Jesper Just and Douglas Gordon.

The second will see Parisian art collective The Community work with a selection of items by Koché to create an installation visible at any time of the day and night – an exhibition that's as highly accessible as the creations of Christelle Kocher herself, whose trademark early shows were street-based happenings.
