Experiences continue to be an important consumer draw even for the busiest of retail locations. So Shaftesbury Capital-owned Carnaby Street in London is to open a RankinLive pop-up on Wednesday (22 November).

The celebrated fashion photographer is operating a live photo studio and retail experience for the Christmas season. It opens until 7 January.
Launched in 2009, RankinLive is regarded by the photographer as his most ambitious project ever undertaken. The sessions see Rankin pick up his camera and turn it on the general public, “offering people a chance to experience behind the scenes of a professional photoshoot, in an exceptional immersive experience”.
For the first time in a physical location, Rankin is also bringing his product (rankinswag.com) to a storefront. From prints to books and tote bags, the pop-up will host brand new merchandise and signed gifts.
Tickets for the experience include time in front of the lens, either solo or with a partner, as well as a digital version of the final portrait, and an A4 authenticated print.
“For years, I’ve had this idea of doing live photoshoots in the window of a shopfront — bringing the exclusive world of the photo industry out to the public. Carnaby Street is arguably one of the most famous shopping streets in the world, so there is no better place to launch this concept,” said Rankin.
RankinLive joins a line-up of exclusive pop-ups and new openings on Carnaby Street in time for Christmas. Other pop-ups include charity store Choose Love, House of Sunny knitwear, sustainable fashion brand Omnes, and intimates brand Fruity Booty joining recent full-time arrivals footwear brand Uniform Standard, Oakley and Sculpted by Aimee.
