Less than 24 hours after Warner Bros. announced it was pushing back the release date of Paul Thomas Anderson's new film to late September — speculated to help set up star Leonardo DiCaprio for his second Oscar — the first trailer for One Battle After Another has arrived.
The brief teaser shows DiCaprio and co-star Teyana Taylor enthusiastically practicing their guns in the foreground.
The film also stars Benicio Del Toro, Alana Haim, and Sean Penn.
The film is Anderson's most expensive film to date, with a production budget estimated at $140 million. Inspired by Thomas Pynchon's Vineland, an experimental postmodern fantasy in which characters from 1984 California are transported back to the '60s, this is Anderson's second adaptation of his work, following 2025's Inherent Vice.
It is DiCaprio's first film since Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon in 2025. He won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2025 for his role in The Revenant.
