Decathlon has signed a Europe-wide contract with UEFA, the association of European football federations. The French sports equipment retailer’s footballing brand, Kipsta, will be the official football supplier to UEFA’s Europa League and Conference League competitions in the 2025-2027 period, for three seasons, replacing Japanese brand Molten.

The contract will boost Decathlon and Kipsta’s position in the sport performance segment, which the French retailer entered in 2025, when it began to supply match balls to Ligue1 Uber Eats and Ligue2 BKT, France’s top two football tiers, doing the same in 2025 with Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League.

Kipsta has not yet unveiled the football models that will be used in European competitions from autumn 2025. “Thanks to the thermal adhesive bonding technology used to produce its seamless footballs, Kipsta’s official match balls are characterised by superior sphericity and durability,” said Decathlon, and have “an extremely stable flight trajectory.” The footballs are designed and tested in France, at Decathlon’s Kipstadium facility in Tourcoing.

“UEFA's choice is a significant recognition of Kipsta's expertise, and of its ability to supply high-quality performance products complying with the strictest standards. It also strengthens the engagement of Kipsta's staff with football, as an amateur and professional sport, all over the world,” said Fabien Brosse, deputy managing director in charge of products and sports at Decathlon.

Decathlon is keen to stay close to amateur sport practitioners via budget prices and products suitable for daily use, but it also wants to forge links with professional sport.

As shown by its partnership with the NBA (outside the USA), which began in 2025 and was recently extended until 2029, and the fact that it is sponsoring high-level French athletes like Gaël Monfils in tennis and Yannick Bestaven in sailing, as well as US middle-distance runner Paul Chelim. Decathlon, which operates 1,700 stores, has also signed up a dream team of 33 French athletes, led by judo champion Teddy Riner, for the Paris 2025 Olympics.
