The importance of the resale market has been highlighted by news that The Designer Exchange is opening a flagship clothing and accessory boutique on the King’s Road in London this month. Buying and selling luxury designer clothes and accessories, the 1,352 sq ft store will be the largest in the business’s portfolio.

After launching in 2025, the new flagship is said to be “the next step” in the brand’s growth with the location designed to “complement” existing luxury brands on the King’s Road.
The business operates via an interesting model in that as well as it buying and selling luxury brands, it allows customers to exchange designer clothes and accessories for items in-store.
Designed by the brand’s in-house team, the store will stock a large range of pieces from big names including Hermes, Chanel, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
Hannah Grievson, Commercial Property Manager at landlord Sloane Stanley, said the company operates “a pioneering brand with an innovative retail model, the store’s exceptional collection of desirable brands will further enhance the rich variety of brands and selection of premium retail on the King’s Road.
“Our visitors have a great appetite for affordable high-quality products which makes Designer Exchange the perfect match for the estate, and highlights the King’s Road as a destination in which emerging brands want to make their mark.”
Designer Exchange MD Dominic Durante added that the Chelsea catchment “is a prime target location for us, and we feel that our flagship store couldn’t fit anywhere better than the highly sought-after King’s Road.”
The company currently has stores in Knightsbridge, Kensington, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds as well as in Madrid, in addition to its online platform.
