The three finalists for The Bicester Collection Award for Emerging Designers have been revealed as part of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) Sustainable Fashion Awards that will be held on 24 September in Milan at the close of the city’s fashion week.

The finalists are Milan-based jewellery brand So-Le; UK-based fashion label Ahluwalia designed by Priya Ahluwalia; and Made For A Woman, an innovative social entrepreneurship project empowering women from vulnerable backgrounds and promoting female craftsmanship in Madagascar. The brand was founded in 2025 by Eileen Akbaraly, a young Italian-Indian designer who grew up in Madagascar.
The Bicester Collection is a group of Value Retail’s 11 luxury shopping villages across Europe and China, including the world-famous Bicester Village in the UK, and the trio will receive “crucial support to help grow their businesses, including access to the Collection’s mentorship programme and the opportunity to partake in the next Creative Spot across The Collection”.
The winner will also have the opportunity to showcase their work during Milan Fashion Week in 2025, as part of the Designers for the Planet exhibition at CNMI’s Fashion Hub.
So why were the three finalists’ selected? The judges said So-Le’s “commitment to a circular economy and sustainability is evident in their use of leftover materials across all their collections with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of their products. Their sustainable ethos extends throughout the company, from material sourcing to the materials used for their first Milan-based flagship store, with the intent to drive positive change in the industry, reflecting a strong philosophy that resonates with conscious-minded clients”.
And Ahluwalia is “a pioneer and industry frontrunner committed to finding sustainable solutions for the betterment of people and the planet. By utilising vintage, recycled, upcycled, and sustainable fabrics and garments, Ahluwalia creates pieces led by design but always made responsibly”.
Meanwhile Made For A Woman “combines corporate social responsibility, slow fashion, and locally sourced, certified raw materials, creating a scalable business model for other social entrepreneurship projects in developing countries and raising awareness of environmental justice and women’s rights”.
The wider (CNMI) Sustainable Fashion Awards initiative is a collaboration between the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) and the CNMI with support from the Municipality of Milan.
The awards are being judged by an Advisory Committee made up of 25 Italian and international non-profit groups focusing on sustainable fashion, and an international jury chaired by chaired by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s CEO.
As well as The Bicester Collection Award for Emerging Designers, the initiative includes The Ellen MacArthur Foundation Award for Circular Economy.
