Founded in 2011, Misha Nonoo's namesake brand has been worn by celebrity fashionistas including Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Pippa Middleton. Now she has teamed up with Aldo for an Aldo Rise collection.
The shoes got their runway debut as part of Nonoo's runway show in New York City at the start of September. Designed to go "from desk to dinner", according to Douglas Bensadoun, Chief Creative Officer for ALDO, the pieces include a ballerina style flat, a foldover clutch bag and a high-heeled sandal.
"For this collection, I was inspired by the romantic tension illustrated in Dustin Yellin’s three dimensional psychogeography glass collage series," explained Nonoo. "For this stiletto silhouette, we used multiple fine straps that overlap and wrap around the foot to showcase a controlled chaos."
Aldo Rise was conceived by the Montreal-based brand as a way to support emerging design talent via a series of capsule collections. The pieces will hit select Aldo stockists globally from March 2025 onwards, with the ballerinas priced at $100, the stilettos available for $160, and the bag for $65.
