Primark has named the stores that will participate in its large click & collect trial that will take place across the North West of England, Yorkshire and North Wales before the end of the year.

It will offer the option in as many as 25 of its stores in key locations including two stores in Manchester, plus Liverpool, Blackburn, Sheffield, Wrexham and Carlisle. It will take in both city centre locations and smaller high street stores.
The trial will be the first time Primark has enabled customers to order any of its products online, but in the summer, a member of the billionaire Weston family that controls the business said it was unlikely the move would be a first step towards a full online shopping service.
It will mean shoppers will be able to browse and buy from the brand’s kidswear and nursery products selection.
As well as the locations mentioned, it will also be available in Birkenhead, Blackpool, Bolton, Broughton, Burnley, Bury, Chester, Huddersfield, Lancaster, Llandudno, Oldham, Preston, two stores in Sheffield, two in Stockport, Wallasey, Warrington, and Wigan.
Primark has been almost unique in resisting the shift to online shopping and this meant it suffered during lockdowns as its rivals ramped up their online operations.
Despite online now comprising a huge proportion of overall retail sales, Primark remains heavily focused purely on its expanding network of physical stores in the UK, Europe and the US.
But a redesigned website earlier this year and this new trial does suggest a slight shift in its thinking, if not a U-turn.
