AI-powered virtual fashion try-on software company Zyler is claiming over 30% of sales on the John Lewis Fashion Rental site now are down to following its visualisation tool.

What’s more, it says 16% of web visitors engage with Zyler with an average of 52 outfits viewed per user.
“These findings exceeded our expectations and demonstrate a huge customer response to our try-on technology,” said Zyler CEO Alexander Berend.
“There is a significant sales contribution from users, strong engagement among website visitors, and a high number of outfits viewed per user,” he added.
The related ‘Try it On’ feature on the John Lewis Fashion Rental website allows customers to see how an outfit looks on them online before they rent it “which is crucial because many are looking to rent clothing for an important and time-sensitive event”, Zyler noted.
Customers upload a headshot and sizing information to try the outfit on virtually, from the comfort of their own home “ensuring that the virtual try-on experience is as accurate as possible”.
Danielle Gagola, Innovation Lead at John Lewis, said: “The impressive results we've seen from [the virtual fashion try-on] in the first few months shows it's resonating with our customers. As we move into winter, we're looking forward to even more customers using the… service to find that perfect Christmas party outfit.”
John Lewis signed up to trial the virtual try-on tech back in the summer and at the time said it was the first of its kind for a UK rental site.
The service, available across 750 items, allows customers to upload a headshot and input their height, bra and dress size. It’s powered by rental giant HURR and Zyler said earlier trials had shown that the average customer will scroll through 250 different outfits using the technology.
