With the aim of attracting high-end clothing and accessory sellers, the Lithuanian second-hand specialist, Vinted, has announced the roll-out of product verification services for items priced at over 100 euros. This system comes after several months of testing.

The service is available as an optional add-on for buyers of eligible items, priced at 10 euros. Vinted states that these items will be handled by trained and experienced teams based in Hamburg. Initially, this service will be accessible in the French, Italian, German, Belgian, and Dutch markets. This move follows the acquisition of the German luxury resale platform, Rebelle, last year.

Buyers can request verification through a dedicated badge on product pages, depending on the brand and selling price. Currently, about a hundred brands are eligible, including Bottega Veneta, Céline, Jacquemus, Adidas, and New Balance. Vinted plans to gradually expand its verification capabilities to more brands, markets, and categories.

"Since the creation of Vinted 15 years ago, our commitment has always been to make second-hand fashion the first choice for everyone. We consider this new service a significant step in our ambition to provide our community with the highest confidence," said Adam Jay, the CEO of Vinted. "That's why we've worked hard to provide our reliable designer item verification service at an affordable price."

The launch demonstrates Vinted’s growth strategy to upscale its offerings in a second-hand fashion market in Europe. This market has become polarized between Vinted and Vestiaire Collective, which has directly positioned itself in premium and luxury fashion products.

This announcement comes shortly after Vinted Go, Vinted’s logistics division, acquired the Dutch logistics company Homerr. This acquisition allowed Vinted to access a network of pickup and drop-off points that the company has been developing in the Benelux since 2025. Vinted Go currently boasts 100,000 pickup points in Europe, including a growing network of automated lockers bearing the group’s branding.

In 2025, the Vinted group recorded a 51% increase in revenue to 370.2 million euros. During this period, the company managed to reduce its losses from 118.2 million euros to 47.1 million euros. With 1,502 employees, the organization now has 80 million members across 19 European and American markets.
