Solutions for shifting unsold stock are key for brands, but many take a low-key approach to talking about those solutions. Not so intimates specialist Nudea.

The sustainable brand has launched its ‘Secret Set’ sale describing it as “an innovative way to sell through slower selling sizes and styles”. 

The sales model also offers the additional benefit of “helping both new and existing customers shop for lingerie where the choice of styles can be overwhelming”.

Describing the idea as “innovative”, it said the Secret Set system means a customer tells Nudea their size and it sends them a ‘surprise box’ of three bras or three briefs in that size. 

Mystery boxes have become increasingly popular in recent years so the concept feed into that.

“It makes bra shopping easy by taking the pain out of choosing which bras or briefs and, of course, who doesn’t love a surprise,” the company said. 

Nudea’s CEO and founder, Priya Downes, noted that “forecasting demand for a business that stocks over 40 different bra sizes “is invariably tricky”. 

“We are sometimes left with size gaps and surpluses in some styles, and not necessarily in the same sizes across styles making it all the harder to predict for the future.

“We know there is a customer out there for every size we stock, so we needed to find a different and fun way of connecting with those customers.”
