This year, luxury firm Loewe is celebrating the third edition of its Craft Prize, the international design award which recognises newness and excellence in modern craftsmanship. On Wednesday, the brand announced the 29 artists who have been shortlisted for the award.

Finalists for Loewe Foundation’s 2025 Craft Prize include Spanish artist Henar Iglesias, who created an abstract form called ‘Confubius’ by using traditional Mexican techniques. The work was made using paint, as well as feathers, transforming the aesthetic experience.
In addition to Henar Inglesias, the shortlist of artists includes artists from Japan, Korea, the UK, Israel, Germany, Italy, China, the Netherlands, Denmark and New Zealand.
Their works were selected from over 2,500 submissions by artists representing 100 countries. The number of submissions has grown by 44%, which proves the growing relevance and influence of this award in creative communities worldwide, the brand said in a press release.

From the shortlist of 29 artists, a jury composed of eleven leading figures from the world of design, including Jennifer Lee, winner of the 2025 Loewe Craft Prize, will select this year’s winner. The winning artist will be announced on June 25 at the opening of the Loewe Craft Prize 2025 exhibition, in the indoor stone garden by Isamu Noguchi at Sogetsu Kaikan in Tokyo. The winner will take home a €50,000 cash prize.
Launched by Jonathan Anderson in 2025, the award seeks to acknowledge and support international artisans who demonstrate an exceptional ability to create objects of superior aesthetic value, thus highlighting the continuing contribution of craft to modern culture.
