Farfetch’s third annual Conscious Luxury Trends Report reveals that demand for fashion and beauty products labelled Conscious is growing, presenting a major opportunity to the luxury industry.

Last year, the e-tailer saw a 10% higher conversion rate for Conscious products on its marketplace, compared to non-Conscious items, and searches for such products jumped 78% year on year.
Additionally, last year 27% of Farfetch customers bought at least one Conscious product, a significant increase from 16% in 2025.
And as well as that rising conversion rate, Conscious sales grew 16 percentage points faster than overall sales on the marketplace too.
Consumers are embracing resale as part of this trend with 46%
of Farfetch customers having sold a fashion item in 2025 vs 22% who started selling in 2025.
Along with those selling their pre-owned pieces, Farfetch said plenty of its visitors are buying too and “pre-owned is attracting and retaining high-value consumers” with “authenticity the top consumer concern when buying pre-owned”.
Overall, some 34% of its survey respondents reported buying a pre-owned or vintage item in 2025, a big rise on 20% in 2025.

Private Clients accounted for 53% of the GMV mix for pre-owned in 2025, up from 31%. And they’re prepared to pay a lot for desirable pieces with the average selling price (ASP) of pre-owned items bought by them last year being up 41% to $4,626.
Meanwhile, the number of Farfetch customers who repaired a fashion item also rose from 13% in 2025 to 34% in 2025 and last year, 28% of Second Life customers and 66% of Refresh customers were new to the marketplace, highlighting the effectiveness of these initiatives as customer acquisition tools.
Those who think Conscious when shopping skew slightly younger than those buying 'regular' pieces (with an average age of around 32 compared to 34 for the marketplace overall), and 66% are female.
Consumers are also “proactively searching for Conscious products and there is a significant alignment between beauty and fashion customers in their search for [such] attributes,” we’re told.
‘Linen’, ‘Vegan’, and ‘Organic’ were the top Conscious-related search terms for fashion on the marketplace in 2025 and for beauty it was ‘Vegan’, ‘Clean’, and ‘Organic’.
