Fanatics continues to be busy. It has just announced a new long-term partnership with European retailer Sprinter, to offer sports fans across Europe more than 5,000 officially licensed sports products, directly through the sprintersports.com webstore.
The connected inventory deal follows on from similar partnerships that Fanatics has signed over the past few years with retailers across the UK, US and Asia, powering licensed sports merchandise online for Next (its first connected inventory partnership in Europe), Foot Locker, Walmart, Kohls, Nordstrom and Rakuten Ichiba.
The deal starts in Spain and Portugal and will expand to the Netherlands in 2025. Going live this year, it will feature more than 5,000 licensed sports products, such as apparel, headwear, accessories and hard goods, “from many of the top leagues and sporting organisations across the world”.
Sprinter will continue to power the front-end online experience to customers, while using Fanatics’ “expertise in licensed sports merchandise and its assortment of licensed sports products, significantly building upon the 10,000+ strong product assortment previously available”.
Fanatics partners with more than 900 of the largest sporting organisations, teams and leagues in the world including Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, LALIGA, Atletico Madrid, UEFA, The FA, The French Football Federation (FFF), AC Milan, Inter Milan, The International Olympic Committee (IOC), NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and Formula 1.
The company is fresh from announcing another long-term agreement earlier this month. That one was with leading US collegiate licensing company CLC to sell fan merchandise from US colleges to global fans.
