Hammerson continues to attract high-profile brands to its city shopping centres in what the commercial property giant calls a “flight to quality”.

The new brands include Footasylum at the Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham, Jack & Jones at Cabot Circus in Bristol, and Office at The Oracle in Reading.
Ahead of its half-year results on 27 July, Hammerson said the new signings “further demonstrate the attractiveness of [our] portfolio and the strategic progress made to enliven and reinvigorate its assets by introducing leading brands, diversifying its occupiers and repurposing and reimagining its destinations”.
At the Bullring, Footasylum has upsized and relocated, further catering to “Europe’s youngest city’s love of athleisure” with a new 18,590 sq ft store presenting a wide selection of branded footwear and apparel.
In Bristol, retailer Jack & Jones will occupy a prime unit across 2,000 sq ft on Concorde Street, featuring its collection of “hallmark denim jeans and jackets”.
In Reading’s Oracle, Office will “enhance the centre’s footwear offer” through a new 3,000 sq ft store stocked with the latest sneakers, sandals and boots from brands such as Nike, adidas, Birkenstock and Dr Martens.
Hammerson said these new leasing deals continue to build on its recent momentum following a spring refresh across the portfolio and the recently announced arrival of Inditex brands, Berksha and Pull&Bear, at Bullring and the repurposing of Brent Cross’ carpark space into a new circus for the summer.
Paul O’Brien, Director of Leasing and Commercialisation, added: “These signings clearly demonstrate the success of our strategy and the confidence we have in our vision of repositioning and future-proofing our destinations to attract the best quality brands and concepts. Hammerson’s pipeline remains strong as we continue to build on our leasing momentum with new openings and partnerships, which will in turn engage new audiences and drive new revenue streams.”
