The Irish arm of Danish menswear brand Jack & Jones posted a loss of €256,561 in the year ended September, with the company blaming the decline in consumer sentiment for the fall.

J & J Retail, which sells Jack & Jones in Ireland, operates more than 30 stores in the country. It had pre-tax profit of €52,456 in the previous 12 months, according to the Sunday Times.
In the directors’ report, J & J Retail pointed out that the consumer sentiment had continued to be negatively affected by the economic climate during the year.
The company employed approximately 300 people in Ireland, up from 288 a year earlier, and paid out wages of €2.1m. It retained profits of €17,771.
"Through prudent business planning, the directors will make appropriate commercial decisions in response to market conditions", said the report.
Bestseller is currently working towards repositioning the affordable menswear brand with a new focus on its denim heritage and a simplified organisational structure.
The Danish clothing group fired 100 employees at the Jack & Jones offices in Brande and Copenhagen earlier this year after admitting the label was in need of a “strategic change."
